Unreal Engine Modelling

During my first year in my studies, i was tasked with using Unreal Engine modelling mode to replicate the photo seen on the left of this text. This was a one week task to complete alongside the assignment

This was my introduction to the Unreal modelling tool and the creation of materials and lumen lighting.

My Contribution

Modelling

I used the unreal modelling mode to create desired shapes for positioning within a blank level. I wanted my version to be as accurate to the original image as possible for timeframe of this task. I also scaled each section as close to the original by defining the measurements of the door as the average dimensions of a front door then comparing those measurements with the other house features in the reference image. I exclusively used the modelling mode within Unreal, and created materials using textures found in the engine's starter content which all helped with familiarizing myself with the software. Though the front of the house the house was established, creative freedom was given in regards to the back and interior.

Whiteboxing

Creating the interior introduced me to the concept of a whitebox, using primitive shapes to create meshes as well as adding discernible objects that visible tell the viewer where they are. This house features an entrance, living room, kitchen, garage and a bedroom.
