Soup?
'Soup?' is a short demo created in a collaborative assignment to develop a stealth 3D environmental game.
The game follows a down-on-his-luck racoon who is need of cash. An idea strikes, soup. By making and serving soup to the alleyway critters in the Neighborhood, Racoon can earn their financial freedom! Collect only the freshest of ingredients (at the expense of some humans) and make the best soup of your mammal life.

Role
Game designer and blueprint developer
Software
Unreal Engine 5.5
My Contribution
Visual scripting (player character, soup pot)
I provided the team with the player character blueprint which handled basic movement (such as running, jumping and sneaking) as well as the main abilities of picking up objects, holding them in the racoon's mouth and dropping them. This then linked to my food and soup pot blueprints that stored when a ingredient is dropped in and cooking the soup when all ingredients have been collected. To add some more obstacles outside of the market shop i also created the blueprint for the cars that when hit the player, resets them back to the soup shop.
Visual scripting (animation blueprints)
Similar to other projects, I offered my experience to the group and provided the animation blueprints for both the racoon and the NPCs. This included the AnimGraph, EventGraph and state machines which establish the different animations and sets the context for which they are enabled.
Set dressing
I worked with two other designers with the level layout. One had worked on the shop interior while the other worked on a café exterior. I migrated their work into the main file and built the town around these two areas to create a sense the game takes place in a busy town, with other shops and apartments that could possibly be explored in future levels of the game.
